Emily & Steve's Wedding - EMP

Well on stormy fall day, we set out to photograph the amazingly beautiful wedding of Emily and Steve at the Experience Music Project.  We were so excited to shoot there as they simply don't do many weddings there per year and it is such an amazing venue for a wedding.  We started out with Emily and her girls getting ready in such a cool room which had a view of the floor to ceiling music video screens at EMP.  As you can see we took advantage of that and got an ultra cool dress shot with Jimi Hendrix playing in the background.  It was then onto photographing the girls and guys separately beforehand and then onto the amazing details and decor inside the venue. 

We had the opportunity to work with Travis & Jesse from True Color Events and what a beautiful and seamless job they do at a wedding.  I highly recommend checking them out if you are in need of fabulous planners.  You know a wedding is going to be cool when the bride walks down the aisle to Little Wing by Jimmy Hendrix (now do you see that the dress shot is even more fitting . .ha). Afterwards we snuck outside with Emily & Steve to get some shots outside of EMP and I love the one of Steve dipping Emily as they kissed . .such a pretty photo.  They had a very cool Science Fiction music/cocktail hour. And as you can see from the details below, every table was named after a Science Fiction movie and then your name marker was customized with a quote from the movie.  They had wonderful chocolates from Theo Chocolates  as their favor - yum (great Christmas/Stocking Stuffer). 

Towards the end of the evening we had the opportunity to walk through the Science Fiction museum and snap some cool photos of their exhibits. It's funny as they always say that you never quite explore what's in your own city and how true it is.  I encourage anyone to check it out, it's so cool.

Kitty & Pavel's Wedding

Well on a lovely fall day, Kitty & Pavel got married at the very nice and quaint Blue Ribbon Cooking School on Lake Union.  I have to tell you we do a lot of weddings and I thought this was such a great place to get married if you want something that is more inclusive (they do the food, flowers, venue for both ceremony & reception).  It was so great and we worked with Bryce and he was simply a dream to work with.  Before the ceremony, the weather held and we were able to go around to locations and shoot.  How can you not love the photo of Kitty and Pavel with the Scuba diver .. ha . . to funny.  And that boat was intended for the entire wedding party . .but getting on it was a little scary, so at least we got the guys on there. 

It was especially fun shooting this as a former bride from a few years ago was here (in fact Kitty was her bridesmaid), so it was so nice to see Helen and Jason as they now live in Washington DC.  As you can tell the weather held for them and I am so glad it did as I love the backdrop of the water.  It was then onto the reception as you might have guessed by Pavel's name he is russian.  And they had the russian nesting dolls on their cake which I thought was so cute and fitting.  We got another beautiful break of light towards the end of the night and I think one of my favorites is of them with the light post with the sun breaking through!  Enjoy.

Oona & Chris's Engagement Session

Well on a beautiful crisp clear fall day, Bryan met up with Oona & Chris for the fun engagement shoot.  As you can see Bryan hit so many fun and funky and beautiful locations. You might remember Oona and Chris as our very cool "Zombie" couple for Halloween and yes Bryan did also get some pretty (not just creppy . . ha) photos nearby.    I absolutely love all the 70's feeling photos of them on the old car . .how cool are those and how can you not love all the ones with the bunny/rabbit guy . .ha.  It was then onto the boat that they own - a vintage Chris Craft and I love that they photographed on that as well.  I love the photos of them on the deck, especially the night time looking one and the one of them kissing far away as they went through the locks.

Can't wait to shoot your wedding in a month!

Jessica & Chuck's Wedding

Well on a rainy windy day . .Jessica and Chuck got married at the beautiful Pickering Barn in Issaquah.  Before that, we started out the day at the Westin in Bellevue and as you can see we got some gorgeous shots of Jessica.  The one of her on the bed is one of my favorite bride shots of the entire year!  Jessica and Chuck had their emotional first look in the lobby and then the sun came out and the rain clouds went away just long enough for us to go outside and get some very cool portraits of them. 

It was then off to the Pickering Barn in Jessica Granda's vintage red car (isn't the photo of them in her hotel room just precious?).  I love the shot of them kissing with their wedding party behind them and the photo of Jessica by herself in the car.  As you can see Jessica's 3 brothers all walked her down the aisle and as her father is no longer with us it was a very touching and emotional moment.  The sun kept coming out in little spurts for us and we got a gorgeous shot of the barn near sunset and a very cute shot of them kissing over a little boy wearing the cow mask.  Enjoy!

Alaina & Brandon's Wedding

Well I know it's been sometime since we've shared with you a beautiful wedding . . but between getting sick, a bathroom remodel that won't stop and shooting other beautiful events, we've been busy!  So I thought what a nice way to start our wedding posts again then with the beautiful wedding of Alaina & Brandon at Sodo Park in Seattle (one of my favorite new venues).  As you can see Alaina had amazing and beautiful red shoes by Christian Louboutin.  I love the dress/shoe shot Bryan got outside of the venue.  It was then onto their emotional first look and photos nearby.  Is the photo of Brandon up close not super cool? And I love the photo of them kissing by the car and I love any bride who suggests you shoot with construction equipment.

As you can see they had the great idea of doing lollipops as their favors in the letters of their names of A&B . .how cute is that? I love the bold yellow dresses she chose for her bridesmaids.  Onto the beautiful reception where there was some great light and I love the photo Alaina's bridesmiads kissing her cheek and all of the photos outside of the two of them and their lollipops.  Lastly how can you not think the ring shot just simply rocks .. what a great idea Bryan had!  Enjoy.
