Well how do I even being to talk about Jeff & Sarah's wedding? What a fun fun day we had with them. As you can already tell from the subject title . . any wedding with a cowbell is bound to be fun. On a beautiful sunny day, we started out the day at the beautiful Hotel Andra with both Jeff & Sarah getting ready only a few rooms apart from one another. Sarah had the lovely Kate Crotty do her makeup and isn't it gorgeous? As you can tell Jeff was very stylish groom, from his Dolce & Gabbana Suit to his gaming cufflinks - link from Legend of Zelda . .get it cuff link ha (hey he is the liason to the Xbox for Microsoft - so very appropriate) and very cool shoes. After doing the first look in the lobby, we were able to get some time along with Jeff and Sarah for portraits and aren't all the photos in the alley with Jeff solo, Sarah looking at us with Jeff turned away and them kissing with flare just stunning . .those have to be some of my many favorites!
Afterwards we headed back to Hotel Andra to do photos with the wedding party and then went around town with them before heading to Pravda Studios for the ceremony and reception. I LOVE the photo in front of the red parking garage . .I have to thank the limo driver for backing in - very impressive and the photo of Jeff and Sarah looking up against the Graffiti wall just rocks. Before we got to Pravda, we had to first go to the wonderful Bleu Bistro on Capitol Hill - the location of Jeff & Sarah's first date. There were so accomodating and we were able to get fun shots in there. The shot where Jeff is on the little horse rocker was completely spontaneous and isn't it hysterical . .as you can tell they are up for anything and it's so much fun to photograph them and their wedding party.
Then it was onto Pravda Studios for a traditional Jewish Wedding with the very nice Rabbi David Fine, they had the Ketubah Signing first and then the ceremony. The ceremony was so touching and it almost had me crying . .ha. In between the ceremony and reception, their was a nice cocktail hour and we snuck them away for a few more shots and isn't the photo with Jeff in the background . .with a beer can and with Sarah in the foreground too cool? The reception was so much fun from the emotional toast of the best man Brian who could not stop from crying, to them having one couple who is notoriously picky getting Dick's burgers and fries delivered to them, it went so fast. Things really kicked off with the very cool band - the Popoffs - a very talented trio who plays such a variety of music from the Beatles to the song My Sharona and when I was really impressed . .was when they sang Bohemian Raphsody by Queen - anyone that can pull that off is amazing in my book.
Towards the end of the night, Jeff and Sarah got put up in chairs for the classic Hava Nagila and Bryan thinks it's a tie between Jewish and Greek weddings as to which is more fun . .ha. Lastly, Jeff had to sit in for a song and play drums with the band and how cool is that? Afterwards they gave him a cowbell and he did cowbell for not one but two songs . . .at one point he tried to hand it off to Sarah, but she wouldn't take it. What a great end to a great night! We can't wait for your post shoot! And Jeff I hope you feel better . . Jeff broke his foot while on his honeymoon!
Lastly a special thanks to the lovely Stacey Jehlik who was the wedding coordinator for the day and she did an amazing job!
