Well ok . .so how does it take us over a month to blog again . .just call us the Blog slackers! I don’t know how February seemed to fly by us so quickly, but it did. So, to kick off blogging again, I wanted to share with you a couple of things. First, we are in the new issue of Seattle Bride Magazine – yeah! One of our lovely couples from last year – Claire & Damon got featured in the Commitment section. If you will remember, they were the couple who did the awesome post shoot in the scrap yard. Below is the cover of the magazine and the picture they featured telling how they met. The two photos below it . .well those were photos that were SUPPOSE to be in the BEST OF photography section, but I cannot read and I submitted photos that didn’t go within the time guideline of the last 6 months (I thought it was the “Best of the Year” – oops!). Well we still want to share them with you as they should have been in there.
Next, last year as Bryan was traveling around the world to photograph weddings, he spotted Snoop Dog in the airport. He had less than a minute, but he was allowed to take a few photos and I think it’s just so cool.
Lastly, one of our awesome couples for 2009 wanted to do a quick save the date shot before their engagement session next month. It was Jessica and Chuck’s idea to recreate the classic painting American Gothic by Grant Wood. It’s certainly one of the most recognized paintings from the 20th century. Interestingly enough if you do your research, you realize that the couple in the painting is in fact Grant Wood’s sister and his dentist. Anyhow, onto the fun short shoot we did, we met up at their ceremony/reception location the Pickering Barn to recreate the shot. I love how they came up with outfits that are similar to the painting, but updated them for current times (love that red and white checked shirt Jessica had on). And of course Bryan had to bring along these awesome red heart shaped glasses and I think the photos of Chuck in particular are hilarious.
Enjoy and I promise we will be blogging sooner than later. We do have Hong Kong to share with you shortly and as I write this we are leaving for San Francisco for the weekend to celebrate Bryan’s birthday!
