Emily & Ryen's Wedding

Well all I can say is finally we are having a gorgeous weather month like we are suppose to have in September!  That is why I always say it's my favorite month of the year (and it doesn't hurt that it's also our anniversary and my birthday as well).  Now onto the lovely wedding of Emily & Ryen.  On yet another very very warm day in summer, Emily & Ryen got married at Emily's parents house in Gig Harbor.  Their house and grounds were landscaped into such a gorgeous place for a wedding.  After hearing their emotional and wonderful toasts, I found out that it was a year long process to get it all ready and how beautiful it was.  It was made even better, by the awesome planning of Aleah & Nick of Fine Line Management Events.  If you are planning a wedding, check them out.  They were so easy and fun to work with and pulled off a flawless event.

As you can see they truly embraced the backyard woods theme and I love all the portraits we got of everyone in the woods.  Including the photo of Emily and her gorgeous bridesmaids . . to Ryen with all his decked out groomsmen and I love the sweet portrait of Emily with her grandmother.  For the ceremony, they had these beautiful wood chairs for everyone to sit on.  And don't you love the sign that Emily's father made for everyone  which included where events were taking places that evening and places in the couples life that were significant to them. 

As you can see they had a whiskey, scotch and cigar bar in the woods and we got a romantic portrait of Emily & Ryen later in the evening.   I loved their crazy fun band - the Chris Friel Orchestra or better known as CFO.  I have never seen so many people dance for so long in a very long time.

Katie & Ryan's Wedding

Before I move on to the lovely Katie & Ryan’s photos, I wanted to do two things.  First I wanted to do a little shameless plug for us and ask if you would be so kind to vote for us at the Best of Western Washington for local photographers – here is the link to our page and to vote for us.  If you would do so, we would greatly appreciate it.  Lastly, the last week has been a trying one with our lovely new Mac Pro and new monitors.  What we thought would be seamless, has taken 6 days and I believe we finally have it up and running well.  When you spent what we spent . .well your monitors should look good . .not fuzzy text, scrunched photos, etc . .we knew something was wrong.  But between the two weddings we shot and it being a holiday weekend, we couldn’t even being to take care of it until Tuesday.  Now it’s up and running and how awesome they are and so nice to have 2 Mac Pro’s in our little computer family now.  If you are not using Mac, I highly suggest you check them out, it is tough at first to transition, but once you do . .well there is no turning back.

Ok, now onto Katie & Ryan.  On a very hot hot day, we ventured up to Snohomish to photograph Katie and her beautiful bridesmaids getting ready at the Gretchen Scott Salon in Woodinville.  What a beautiful salon Gretchen has, it’s one of my favorites to photograph in.  Afterwards, we went to the quaint little Montavilla Farmhouse , a first for us and I absolutely love the bride’s rooms colors, it just doesn’t get any prettier with the muted blue, pale pink and white tones.  How can you not love the photos Bryan captured of Katie alone and her bridesmaids in there . .GORGEOUS!  I loved Katie & Ryan’s colors of Teal and Brown and her bridesmaids surprised Katie and the boys by having their Chuck Taylor’s tye died Teal – how cool is that?  Katie had her mom walk her down the aisle which I thought was very sweet and different than most ceremonies.  Afterwards, was their short and sweet afternoon reception with a buffet, cake cutting and toasts.   They didn’t do all of the normal events as they were having an after party in the evening.  After the reception, we did all their photos and it was so nice to have so much time and no stress of when to get back.
 
As you can see, Bryan found lots of funky spots to shoot and in particular I LOVE all the shots of them in the Laundromat and the one with the boys in push carts.  And aren’t Ryan and his guys quite the climbers, the shot outside is amazing!  Lastly I think one of my favorite photos of the whole say is of one of their guests staring into the camera as Katie and Ryan kissed in the background . .I have no idea what he was thinking, but it’s a funny shot.

Greg & Lindsay's Wedding

Ok . .I just want to start about saying I cannot believe it's September .. whew how did summer fly past us so fast? I think the next two months will as well with as busy as we are going to be with weddings, engagements and more!  Now onto the beautiful wedding of Greg and Lindsay at the Plateau Club in Snohomish.  The day started out with them getting ready and how can you not love the fun socks that Greg chose and his vintage cuff links that were his grandfathers?  I love the first look at the moment after as they say each other for the first time and the gorgeous photo below that of Lindsay.  As you can see we do beautiful group shots . .we just usually don't show them!

Onto the ceremony, they embraced a theme of Yay throughout their day and I thought it was such a cute idea.  I also love that Lindsay chose 3 colors and her bridesmaids each hold a different solid color of flowers and she incorporated all 3 colors into her bouquet . that is something unique I have not seen before and I thought it was gorgeous. 

The wonderful Mimi of Splendid Cupcake supplied the yummy cupcakes for the event and isn't the ring shot so very cool that Bryan used from their cupcake toppers?   They also had a fun Sombrero hat that people would wear throughout the evening  . whenever they would tink their glass for Greg & Lindsay to kiss that person than had to wear it . .another very fun and festive idea, can you tell Greg & Lindsay like to have a fun time?  Enjoy!

P.S. So excited to setup our new Mac Pro and Monitors . . but we won't have much time with 2 weddings this weekend!
